We are a distributed team, with a strong presence in Europe. Our mission is to build a state-of-the-art serverless solution that lets developers and businesses deploy full stack applications, APIs, workers, and databases worldwide with ease.

Why did you join Koyeb?
I was excited to get involved in the early stages of a company and be able to impact its success. I was interested in the fast delivery pace and the flexibility of a startup after a few years in a bigger group. I also strongly believe that serverless will be prominent in our industry in the future.
Can you tell us about your background and how you started working as a product manager?
I have an engineering background with a Ph.D. in Computer science. I have been working as a software engineer for around 8 years. At one point, I had the opportunity to transition to a vacant PO role in my previous company with a small team. Over time, I got additional responsibilities which led me to a PM role.
What are some of your favorite parts of being a product manager?
I was always curious about user problems I was solving as an engineer. So as a product manager, this has not changed. Identifying and properly solving the right problem is key for me. I also like facilitating the cross-team effort, making sure that everyone is aligned on what we are working on and has all of the necessary information to contribute to the team effort.
What do you believe are the most important skills for product managers to possess, and how do you work to develop those skills?
All of the skills to support collaboration are very important: communication, organization, time management, adaptability, and leadership. As a PM, you are not doing anything alone; you are making sure everything is optimized for the product team to reach their goals. And for me, the best way to develop these skills is to practice. You can even practice in your personal life (how you communicate to your family and your friends, how you organize your life when you have imperatives with your kids, how you act in your sports team, and so on).
The skills that support the delivery of the right solution to solve a problem are key. It does not mean you define it alone, but it is important to show the right skills to drive it: critical thinking, problem-solving, and design.

It depends but right now I am in my Apple phase 😀
How do you like to spend your free time?
Spending time with my family and friends, doing home improvement, and running (when I still have energy!).

What was the best vacation you ever went on?
Not a specific vacation, but I had the opportunity to live in the US and travel a lot across the country. I saw so many amazing places (from visiting the most famous US places to incredible hikes in less famous states) that I have great memories of.
